Advertising

It’s been a good week for Pinch Me, and I’ve managed to ascertain a number of contributors already for the next issue. It’s going to take quite a while to get everything underway, but the earlier we get everything put together, the earlier we can start drawing together content. One of the most important parts of this magazine is our offer to opening up free advertising space to creative people with businesses, websites, blogs and other organisations; anyone who is interested in advertising with us should get in touch ASAP.

There are a limited number of free advertising pages that we’re willing to give away, considering I’m funding this project entirely on my own, but it’s essential that we back up our intent to be a contributive platform to showcase talent with advertising potential businesses and websites that are in keeping with the rest of our content.

We’re still seeking more contributors, so anyone with an interest in getting involved should send us an email as soon as possible. Soon, I’ll be looking to re-shape this page and add the opportunity for selected advertising placements, again if you would like to advertise here at Alex&Ashley, please get in touch.

The time has come

With University now done with for the year, it’s time to get working on this project! Pinch Me has been attempting to make a comeback for a good few months, but i’ve been a little tied down to University commitments. This is a fine chance to bulk up any contributor’s portfolio and get free publicity in a digital publication that’ll be distributed to a range of interesting individuals. I’ll be working eventually to have this particular issue ready for print as well or anyone that wants a hard copy.

We’re looking for content pages to fill and pitches for articles, features and possible editorial ideas for the publication. Anyone interested in submitting their talents or their own works should get in touch at: richard@alexandashley.co.uk. Please spread the word among your friends and we can begin to put the magazine together as soon as possible.

I’ll be contacting some people over the next couple of weeks to drag in some contributors I already have in mind, so keep an eye out.

Get in touch if you want to get involved!

The Iron Lady

Margaret Thatcher

So after an entire day of reading notes on influential figures in the fashion industry, I came across the seminar notes that I made a couple of months back during a lecture on the importance of PM Margaret Thatcher’s dress sense in her political career, and the way that it changed as she served as Prime Minister. I spent a couple of hours last night scribbling a quick illustration of Thatcher into my Sketchbook and thought I’d colour it in Photoshop; I thought i’d post it here so you can all take a gander.

I’m still looking for more commissioned Illustration work, should you know anyone that needs some work done. Ta’ra!

“Watch your thoughts for they become words. Watch your words for they become actions. Watch your actions for they become…habits. Watch your habits, for they become your character. And watch your character, for it becomes your destiny. What we think we become. My father always said that… and I think I am fine.” – Margaret Thatcher (The Iron Lady 2011)

Tom Ford

I’ve spent the afternoon researching Tom Ford for a University Paper. After watching this documentary I thought it was a worthwhile watch for anyone out there interested in fashion. Ford’s unique perspective on the Fashion Industry is something I find quite worthy of mention and he’s possibly the most influential person to me when it comes to studying and working in fashion.

Take a look

Thanks.

Hi Paul

I love this piece.

I was considering writing a piece on British Art, but for now this is one of my favourites; I never really knew why but about a year ago while I was working in Italy, I found myself browsing the private Art Collection of our client. His home was full of paintings by a famous British musician and artist who’s name has since escaped me, but they all reminded me of Vine’s famous pairings of Lady Dianna Spencer.

Snapped by the Pap’

Little over a week ago we took a trip to my old hometown  to visit some old friends, colleagues and also have a little bit of a shopping trip to Rochester in Kent. I spent the vast majority of my childhood and adolescent years in Rochester, up until last year when I finished my foundation course at the University for the Creative Arts. Thanks to the photographic genius of my other half and the stunning good looks of a Miss Kennedy you’re no doubt familiar with by now, we took a good galavant around the town after a sufficiently delicious spot of lunch at the Rochester Coffee Co.

This little photo-project will be used as part of my current University PR and marketing presentation and is designed to represent my ‘Street-Style’ theme that i’ve been researching to forecast a trend for SS2013. If you’re interested in seeing the inspirations for this shoot, you can find them in my ‘Print Trend’ board over at Pinterest.
